The second day of VYF 2016 began with the first panel discussion titled „V4 – 25th anniversary: Successes and perspectives of future colaboration“. The introduction to the panel was given by Radovan Javorčík, Director of the State Secretary Office of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic.
The panelists of the first panel discussion were Peter Kormúth, Director of the Second Territorial European Department of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Piotr Samerek, Minister Counsellor at the Embassy of Poland to the Slovak Republic and Michal Vít, Research Fellow at EUROPEUM Institute for European Policy.
After a short break, the participants joined their respective workshop group for the first round of workshops. One of the groups was even joined by Mr. Javorčík, who provided more insight into the discussed topics.
Following a well-deserved lunch break after a productive round of discussions, the second panel discussion „Warsaw aftermath: Challenges for Central Europe“ began with the opening commentary by Róbert Ondrejcsák, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Defence of the Slovak Republic.
Speaking at the second panel discussion were Radovan Javorčík, István Gyarmati, Ambassador, Professor and President of the Center for Democracy Public Foundation, Jakub Wisniewski, Vice President of GLOBSEC and Director of the GLOBSEC Policy Institute and Michal Šimečka, Research Fellow at the Institute of International Relations Prague.
Afterwards, the participants returned to their workshop groups for the second round of workshops before attending the official welcoming reception in the evening.
