The 25th anniversary of the Visegrad Group

Today marks the 25^th anniversary of the Visegrad Group. 25 years ago, on February 15, 1991, Czechoslovakia, Poland and Hungary signed the Declaration on Cooperation between the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic, the Republic of Poland and the Republic of Hungary in Striving for European Integration. The group itself derives its name from the Hungarian castle town of Visegrád, where the aforementioned declaration was signed. After the dissolution of Czechoslovakia in 1993, the Visegrad Group transformed into its current format – the V4. During the past 25 years, the V4 countries achieved a plethora of goals, thanks to their strong and close cooperation based on common values and interests. The V4 has become an established brand, guaranteeing stability in the region and serving as a prime example of political and economic transformation.
