The Visegrad Youth Forum (VYF) is the flagship project of the Euro-Atlantic Center, an independent, non-partisan, non-governmental student organization specializing in the field of international relations and security policy.
The VYF 2024 is the 12th edition of a unique project, which aims to provide a platform for discussion between young leaders and experts from political, non-governmental, and academic spheres about contemporary challenges and future perspectives of the Visegrad Group within the CEE region. Ongoing geopolitical processes stress the need for a coordinated V4 approach to advance peace, prosperity and development within the region of Central Europe as well globally. The project this year will emphasizes the importance of dialogue between member and non-member states of the V4. The ambition is to go beyond boundaries and reach out to partner organizations that cooperate with the Visegrad Group within the format of the V4 and discuss solutions for lacking efficiency in V4.
VYF provides a platform for discussion and opinion exchange on the current topics between its participants and attending experts from various fields. VYF aims to raise awareness and interest among young students, scholars, and the general public about contemporary challenges related to the development of V4 countries. Participants are tasked with outlining various possibilities of cooperation within the region.
The main phase of the VYF is represented by the final three-day conference between 16 - 18 February 2024. It consists of several panel discussions, workshops, and an oxford debate providing participants with an opportunity for objective dialogue with attending experts from both governmental and non-governmental sectors. After panel discussions, the program continues with workshops where the participants will be allowed to discuss their opinions and propositions about current issues and prospects facing the democracies in the region.
