Our partners at the Corvinus Society for Foreign Affairs and Culture are organizing a project called the Young Leaders Forum Ahead of the Hungarian and Beyond the Polish V4 Presidency, which intends to widen the knowledge about V4 countries among university students and others interested in possible ways of cooperation and upcoming challenges of V4 member states. The project aims to evaluate the current Polish V4 presidency, as well as predicting the priorities of the upcoming Hungarian presidency of the Visegrad Group in 2017. The goal of the round table debates and workshops is to create a foundation for an efficient dialogue between the young people from the region.
Furthermore, the participants are encouraged to express their views on selected topics in a short essay (6000-8000 words). Aside from a monetary prize, the first three-placed participants will also receive a one-day ticket for the famous SZIGET Festival, where the Corvinus Society for Foreign Affairs and Culture annually promotes V4-related topics as part of the framework of the European Meeting Point at the NGO Island. The winner of the competition will also have the chance to publish his/her essay in the Bitzpol Affairs journal published by the Corvinus Society for Foreign Affairs and Culture.
The program of the project consists of four lecture series with renowned experts on the following topics – The future of the EU reform /Bratislava process/, Energy security and infrastructure building across the region, Digital Visegrad /e-commerce & start-ups/ and Defence cooperation. The Euro-Atlantic Center as the project’s coordinator for Slovakia will organize four lectures on the aforementioned topics, with the dates of the lectures being announced in advance. You can send in your papers via mail at eac@eac.sk. The deadline for submitting your paper is March 15, 2017. For more information, visit the project’s official website.
